Community Consensus
"The comments are discussing the reading order of the Vorkosigan Saga (Lois McMaster Bujold's series, not the 'President Series'). The consensus notes that the earliest chronological book (usually identified as the Cordelia/Aral story, *Shards of Honor*) can feel like a prequel and is often considered lesser in quality than subsequent entries. Fans are split between starting chronologically or starting with the book featuring the primary protagonist, Miles Vorkosigan."
Start either chronologically with the first book followed by its sequel (*Barrayar* is highly praised), or begin with *The Warriors Apprentice*, which introduces the main character, Miles Vorkosigan, and is confirmed by multiple readers as a popular starting point. Readers are also advised to ensure they read the short stories like *Mountains of Mourning* and *Borders of Infinity*.
